SportMatale International School (MIS) Matale performed exceptionally well to clinch two titles at the Matale education zone - Inter School Netball Championship 2018 for the Nandimitra Ekanayake Challenge Trophy which was concluded at Aluvihare MV ground in Matale. The defending champions MIS Matale, who won the Under-16 title last year, went a step further this year to win both Under-16 and Under-18 championship titles. In the history of Matale education zone inter school netball championships held so far, this is the first occasion that an International school from Matale has won two age group championship titles in this tournament. Sri Sangamitta Girls National School led by Kavindya Aththanapola beat St. Thomas' Girls School Matale 15-2 in the final to annex the Under-20 title.
