NetEase to be added to Hang Seng Composite


Hang Seng Indexes Company said NetEase (9999) will be added to Hang Seng Composite Index on June 26 as the company meets the Fast Entry Rule of the Hang Seng Composite Index. The group will be also added to Hang Seng Composite Industry Index – Information Technology, Hang Seng Composite LargeCap Index, Hang Seng Composite LargeCap & MidCap Index and Hang Seng Internet & Information Technology Index. As for weighted voting rights, the existing aggregate weighting cap of 10 percent on WVR constituents will be removed from the Hang Seng Composite Index and other relevant indexes. As for secondary listed companies, unless otherwise specified in the individual index methodology, the number of shares and free-float-adjusted factor of secondary-listed companies coming from the Greater China region will be assessed in two ways across the Hang Seng Family of Indexes. First, a company’s market capitalization will be based solely on the Hong Kong-registered portion of its shares market capitalization equal to HK shares times the closing priceOn top of the existing non-free-float share classes, any of the HK Shares that are held by a depositary or its custodian as underlying for overseas depositary receipts will also be considered as non-free-float shares and deducted from thetotal number of HK Shares as defined above for FAF calculation.
