PETALING JAYA (Bernama): A Nepalese man's action of pulling his co-worker's bra strap after she ignored his calls landed him in hot water as he was slapped with a RM4,000 fine in default five months' jail by the magistrate's court here Thursday (Jan 3). According to the facts of the case, during the incident, the accused and the victim were both working at the cake section of the plant, and the accused resorted to pulling the woman's bra strap after she refused to acknowledge his calls. Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Alia Sumayyah Amran requested the court to mete out a deterrent sentence against the accused. "I urge the court to take into consideration the fact that the accused has disrupted the peace of the workers at the plant," she said. However, the accused, who was not represented, pleaded for a light sentence on the grounds he only pulled his colleague's bra strap to gain her attention after she ignored his calls.
