Neopharma to expand footprints in Mena NewsBusinessOmanStaff ReporterMUSCATPharma major Neopharma is embarking on major expansion plan, primarily in the Middle East and North African markets and parts of Asia, the company said in a statement. “Increasing population, changing healthcare infrastructure and governments’ willingness to improve the healthcare systems will make the Mena region one of the largest pharmaceutical markets. Furthermore, the pharma company has already invested over 100 million dirhams (approximately 10 million rials) in setting up a state-of-the-art research and development facility,” added Shetty. Apart from the GCC region, Neopharma had invested 100 million dirhams in a state-of-the-art factory in Japan. It also spent about 265 million dirhams in the acquisition of patents and licences excluding apart from over 515 million dirhams in the clinical studies.
