Although just 16 years old, Amyes, of Nelson, has been selected to compete for New Zealand for the second year running, joined this year by Tasman head coach, Daniel Bell. Bell will draw from his experience gained coaching in the Para NZ program, as he enters his first international meet coaching outside the Para squad. Closer to home, the New Zealand Short Course Swimming Championships was battled out in Auckland. A number of swimmers from the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions climbed onto the blocks, hoping for medals and personal best performances.
