Nelson Santa Parade sparkles under glorious sunny skiesLUZ ZUNIGA/STUFF Thousands flocked to Nelson's Trafalgar Street to enjoy the 2017 version of Nelson Santa Parade. Christmas carols filled the air and crowds lined the streets as the much-loved Nelson Santa Parade marched through the town's main street. Led by a brass band, the parade started in scorching conditions at midday from Trafalgar Park and ambled down Trafalgar St, onto Hardy St before finishing up at Morrison Square. She said her children were excited about the parade and were looking forward to seeing Santa. After attending the Richmond parade, he said there were "more floats and more people" at its Nelson counterpart.
