The Say Cheese exhibition at the Nelson Provincial Museum showcased hundreds of photos from Nelson between 1860 and 1950. An exhibition of previously unseen photographs from Nelson Provincial Museum's glass plate collection has won a national award. Nelson Provincial Museum scooped the exhibition excellence award at this year's Service Q NZ Museum Awards, in the social history category. Nelson Provincial Museum was "really excited" to receive the award, interim CEO Olivia Hall said. The museum's" internationally recognised" collection consisted of over 150,000 glass plate negatives, that couldn't be seen until they were digitised.
