Neighbour cuts shared water supply over wedding venue fight

The old shared water supply to Mark and Julie Caldwell's Dunedin property has been turned off by the resident of a neighbouring property. A pair of Dunedin neighbours – one with reticulated water and the other without – have stopped sharing water after a dispute over a wedding venue. The 41-hectare Tomahawk Rd property, which is owned by Mark and Julie Caldwell, was zoned rural and located outside the city's water supply. It received water from the neighbouring property, which had a city water supply connection. The agreement to share water ended when the Caldwells proceeded with their plans to operate a wedding venue, he said.
