Negros Occidental strictly bans Coke, ‘ukay-ukay’ at Bacolod Panaad festival

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental is strictly imposing the ban on Coca-Cola products and “ukay-ukay” (used clothes) in the ongoing 24th Panaad Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City. Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said a team is regularly going around the festival site to ensure that the ban is strictly imposed. The “ukay-ukay” stalls are outside the jurisdiction of Panaad, which are under the control of Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City, she said. The company is also monitoring and immediately reports presence of any rival products at the venue, she said. Pepsi Cola has also assured the Capitol that it is not using high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) in its products, Gelvolea said.
