One of the issues the Supreme Court has raised as it conducts hearings is that of the government’s neglect towards ensuring that the quotas for minorities and others are being sufficiently filled. The commission has found that currently, a whopping 30,000 posts for minorities are lying vacant across the country. The results of the commission are not surprising if one has been keeping up to date with statistics regarding this issue over the years. Posts are in place to uplift and make all social groups a part of society with equal opportunities. There needs to be a mechanism in place for systematic evaluation in the public sector to see how the quota regime for minorities was functioning.
