We have heard from a number of experts on the path to a $10 trillion economy. $10 trillion economy is a new goal, from the $5 trillion we have been speaking about. The $5 trillion economy for which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid down the road map is already within reach. The central government has the extra burden of compensating states for their GST revenue loss. These pressures could make the formula for sharing Centre’s tax revenue with states for the next five years less generous than the current one.
