Aye is set to visit Bangladesh on Apr 11 and Apr 12 for a meeting with the ministers of foreign affairs and home affairs. Bangladesh and Myanmar have signed agreements for the return of refugees who volunteer to go back to Myanmar. Myanmar says it has ‘verified’ only 500 or so of the initial list of 8,000 provided by the Bangladesh authorities. We sent a list of those whom we could verify to Bangladesh, but we haven’t heard anything back yet,” the minister said. Bangladesh and Myanmar will maintain a good relationship and work together on this issue, he said.
