Nearly 200 WWE wrestlers and crew 'were held 'hostage' by Saudi Arabia

WWE bosses have been forced to deny claims that nearly 200 wrestlers and crew were held 'hostage' by Saudi Arabia as they tried to leave the country in a row over an unpaid £390million bill. WWE launched in Saudi Arabia in 2014, with two to four shows a year in the desert kingdom. Joe Hennig posted a photo upon his return from Saudi Arabia and said: 'Not the #Top20 I'm #1 at home! In a statement it said: 'The WWE roster is delayed in its return from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following a historic performance at yesterday's record-breaking WWE Crown Jewel event. 'The remainder of WWE's Superstars, staff and crew will depart on a charter set to depart Saudi Arabia later tonight'.
