Surviving a fire in the Domaine Eatery on Victoria Street in Hamilton made Patrick Wood re-think his career plans. The fire that started in Hamilton's Domaine Eatery in the early hours of January 15, 2016 had engulfed his apartment above. He started 3DAV, a 3D visualisation company that takes plans and creates images of what buildings will look like on completion. He had seen examples of 3D visualisation in New Zealand and thought "I can do better myself".
