LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Thursday that ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif was forsaking national security for his own sake and family’s interest. Speaking to party members, Zardari criticised Nawaz for adopting a policy of conflict with the state institutions and putting the country in a crisis-like situation. “In a country where state institutions are destroyed, its condition becomes similar to Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. Nawaz Sharif is playing a dangerous collision course with the institutions,” Zardari said, accusing Nawaz of forcing Pakistan towards a direction where no one would be able to control the country. “Nawaz Sharif is playing a double-game.
