LUMUT: The Seri Manjung magistrate's court has granted an application to alter the remand order for two people held over the deaths of two Royal Malaysian Navy personnel. The new remand order for investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder) replaces the earlier order, under Section 325/506 of the Penal Code (voluntarily causing grievous hurt/criminal intimidation). Effective Tuesday, the duo aged 27 and 39, will be held for seven days under the new remand order issued by Magistrate Ainul Bashiirah Dona Don Biyajid. Nik Muhammad Baihaqy and Muhammad Lailatuliman died in the detention room at Sungai Wangi, Sitiawan while undergoing training on Sept 29. According to the forensics report issued by Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh, both victims' lungs were bleeding as a result of blunt trauma.
