Following a 24-yard completion to the Navy 23, Connecticut used its second timeout on first and 10 with 45 seconds to play. The Huskies then used their final timeout with 17 seconds to play, a move that wound up costing them dearly. Connecticut had to settle for the field goal when Navy (2-0, 1-0 AAC) held the Huskies (1-1, 0-1) to six yards on third and seven. A poor kick gave Connecticut the ball at its 40, and three plays later the Huskies had reached the Navy 45. The Huskies scored their first points following a block on Navy place kicker Bennett Moehring’s 32-yard field goal attempt.
