Navy Spares Three SEALs in Gallagher Case of Possible Disciplinary Action

WASHINGTON—U.S. Navy officials called off administrative reviews that could have resulted in discipline against three Navy SEALs who instead will be able to keep their symbolic Trident pins and remain part of the elite commando force, officials said Wednesday. Acting Navy Secretary Tom Modly directed that Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday close what are known as Trident reviews for the three naval special warfare officers who were associated with the war crimes case of Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher.
