MANILA, Philippines —Patrons can go back to buying fresh fish at Navotas Fish Port Complex on Easter Sunday after the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Fisheries Development Authority successfully disinfected the area Saturday. PFDA personnel used liquid soap to wash and clean the five market halls and roads and used chlorinated water to rinse. ADVERTISEMENTIt was then disinfected and deodorized using a mixture of quaternary ammonium chloride, organic solvents, and phenoxybenzyl acetate. PFDA General Manager Glen A. Pangapalan said the cleaning and disinfecting of the complex would be done again to ensure the health and safety of seafood sellers, buyers, and fish port workers against COVID-19. “We are happy to inform the public that they can come back to Navotas fish port tomorrow on Easter Sunday to resume their trading operations,” said Pangapalan in a statement.
