Tiangco said the the Navotas National High School and Navotas Polytechnic College have filled up their 210 beds for Covid-19 patients. The mayor told The Manila Times that he immediately sought help from the national government through the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). The Navotas chief executive said they were expecting that the number of Covid-19 positive cases would increase in the coming days due to the local government’s expanded testing which also prioritized frontliners, among others. Tobias said they have started bringing at least 40 Covid-19 positive patients to the two isolation facilities assigned by IATF for the city. “These are patients who were tested positive but asymptomatic while others were waiting for the results after their swab tests,” Tiangco said.
