The Akal Takht Jathedar said he had received complaints from some members of the community. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday tendered an apology after the Akal Takht Jathedar asked him to do so for allegedly hurting the sentiments of the Sikh community by wearing a shawl bearing some religious symbols. Mr. Sidhu said he is apologising for unknowingly hurting the sentiments of Sikhs. He had said the sentiments of Sikh community were hurt by this act of Mr. Sidhu. The Akal Takht Jathedar said he had received complaints from some members of the community.
