Majority of Ghanaians went to bed without power Wednesday night after what appeared to be a nationwide blackout hit the West African nation. Speaking to Starr News on the development, the PRO for the for ECG William Boateng said they lost the feed from GRIDCO unexpectedly. “We lost the feed from GRIDCO around 9:51, but as I talk to you, we have started picking load and so some areas have power. The last time a nationwide blackout hit Ghana was in January 2016 as a result of system failure.
