Big right-hander Jacob Turner will be designated for assignment Tuesday. All three are now on the active roster, after the Nationals optioned relievers Trevor Gott and Austin Adams to Class AAA Syracuse and designated right-hander Jacob Turner for assignment. The Nationals have already designated Turner for assignment twice this season, though he passed through waivers untouched the first time, and was therefore able to report to Syracuse and remain in the organization. Though Grace has options, and therefore could have been sent out to prevent Jacob Turner from being designated for assignment, the Nationals decided to keep him around. Meanwhile, the Nationals get a designated hitter while at Angel Stadium, and will use Adam Lind in that role Tuesday.
