The Nationals, who moved to Washington in 2005, have advanced to the World Series for the first time in franchise history, including 35 years as the Montreal Expos. The Orioles hired Mike Elias after the 2018 season to serve as the executive vice president/general manager. Elias helped the Houston Astros evolve from a last-place club to World Series champions and the hope is he can have the same success in Baltimore. “Obviously, not everything goes perfectly in a season, in a baseball season,” Elias said. Until, the fans in Baltimore will just have to watch from afar as the Nationals compete for their first World Series title.
