The deceased Tanika Dhara had won a silver in the one-meter springboard event at the 70th National Aquatics in September last year and also clinched a bronze in 35th National Games held in Thiruvananthapuram in 2015. A 23-year-old national level swimmer and western railway employee committed suicide on Thursday by hanging herself at her house in Lower Parel where she used to live alone. The deceased Tanika Dhara had won a silver in the one-meter springboard event at the 70th National Aquatics in September last year and also clinched a bronze in 35th National Games held in Thiruvananthapuram in 2015. They then broke open the door with the help of some neighbours to find Dhara hanging by the dupatta to the window. The accidental death report has been registered in the NM Joshi Marg police station and Dhara's family has been informed.
