The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has arrested Badiuzzaman, acting examinations controller of the National University, for allegedly providing Selection Grade to a number of NU officials violating government rules. “He was detained from Dhaka’s Mirpur on Monday morning,” ACC lawyer Enamul Haque told the Dhaka Tribune. Earlier, NU Proctor Touhid Zaman and Assistant Registrar Siddiqur Rahman were also arrested on February 13 from Mirpur on the same charge and released on bail on February 17. The court also rejected the bail plea of another official, Assistant Director Md Mofazzal Hossain. ACC assistant director Fazlul Bari is currently leading an investigation into the corruption case.
