A former adviser to the caretaker government, Prof Jamilur died of heart attack in his Dhanmondi residence at the age of 77, on Tuesday. President Abdul Hamid expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of the national professor. Born in Sylhet, the former caretaker government adviser completed his BSc in Civil Engineering in 1963 from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (Buet). He obtained his MSc in Civil Engineering and PhD from the University of Southampton in 1968.
