National League: Boreham Wood v York & Scunthorpe v Sutton frozen off

Boreham Wood's top-of-the-table National League fixture against York City on Saturday has been postponed because of a frozen pitch at the Mangata Developments Stadium. The National League leaders had been due to take on second-placed York but snow and ice has hit much of the UK overnight, with forecasters warning of a "prolonged spell of very cold weather" to start 2026. The fifth-tier match between Scunthorpe United and Sutton United has also been called off. Yellow warnings for snow and ice came into force for large parts of England at midnight on Thursday, remaining until midday on Friday. Further alerts have been issued for over the weekend and into the early part of next week.
