According to him, government will continue the process of issuing the National Identification Card; known as the ‘Ghana Card’ also to those below the age of 15. This is so critical for us a nation to be able to identify every resident in Ghana,” he explained. National ID Card extensionThe National Identification Authority (NIA) in a statement issued on Friday, November 22 said it would extend mass registration for the Ghana Card in the Upper East, Upper West, Bono, Ahafo and Bono East regions from Saturday, November 23rd to 30th. Palmdeti cautioned that the NIA does not charge a fee for registration and issuance of the Ghana Card, noting that, any demand for fee payment at the registration centre is illegal and criminal.
