National Herald case: Sonia Gandhi, Rahul to be investigated by Income Tax officials


The Delhi High Court today ruled that the company in which Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi are stakeholders, will be investigated by the Income Tax department in the National Herald Case. The Associated Journals Limited (AJL), which publishes the National Herald English daily from New Delhi, will be investigated by the I-T officials. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy accused Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi of setting up Young India Company to buy the debt of the AJL using Congress party funds. THE NATIONAL HERALD CASEIn his private criminal complaint, Subramanian Swamy has accused Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others of conspiring to cheat and misappropriate funds. Besides Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Swamy has made Congress leaders Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandes and Suman Dubey, and close aide of the Gandhis Sam Pitroda as accused in the case.
