National Herald case: Congress accuses government of 'misinformation' and 'vindictive politics'

NEW DELHI: The Congress today accused the government of "campaign of misinformation and distortion" regarding the National Herald case, after the Delhi high court refused to grant relief to party president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul in connection to the case. "The high court observed that all the points raised in the writ in front of HC, can be raised in front of the I-T department. This is the order," Singhvi said.Reacting to the court's directive, Singhvi accused government agents of spreading "false facts", which, according to him, indicated the ruling party's vindictive politics. "It's a sorry state that government agencies, by proxy, are engaging in incomplete and distorted information, possibly bordering on contempt of court. "Young Indian is a 'not for profit' company that only runs the 'National Herald' paper which is the last vestige of the freedom movement which contributed to India's freedom struggle.
