Head of Component Lab at the National Blood Service Ghana, Evelyn Amposah-Fordjour, in an interview with GhanaWeb said “we don’t use the blood for fetish purposes, we can’t meet the daily demand to even supply to various health facilities left alone using it for fetish purposes. The National Blood Service Ghana is calling for a voluntary blood donation as they are currently having just 43 blood pints in the bank even though the daily requirement is 150 to 200 pints. There can be an emergency, especially pregnant women, anaemic and terminally ill patients. Cancer patients also need some blood or blood products.
