Nation pays tribute to nuclear test heroes

The nation celebrated Youm-e-Takbeer, the anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests, on Sunday, renewing their pledge to make the country stronger with the same determination shown 25 years ago. To commemorate the day, the country’s leadership paid rich tribute to the political and military leadership of that time for taking a wise decision. Amid slogans of “Allah-o-Akbar”, Pakistan conducted its nuclear tests at the Ras Koh hills in the Chaghai district of Balochistan on May 28, 1998 in response to India’s nuclear tests two weeks before that day. Felicitating the nation on the silver jubilee of the tests, President Arif Alvi said Pakistan’s nuclear tests were essential for maintaining the balance of power in the region. National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf and Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani also felicitated the nation and said that the nuclear blasts made the country’s defence unbreachable.
