Pageau hit Sautner square in the numbers at 16:25 of the second period in the 7-4 win for the Canucks. Sautner was left crawling on the ice after the hit in apparent distress, while his teammates confronted Pageau. The Pageau hit came shortly after a similar, though less energetic, hit thrown by Jake Virtanen on Zack Smith; Virtanen’s hit, which was more of a push, went unpenalized. Asked after the game about the two incidents, Canucks coach Travis Green said he thought the hit by Pageau on Sautner was correctly penalized.
