The rape suspect, Ashraf Uddin Julfiqar, 50, is a resident medical officer of a garments factory in Shilamandi of Sadar upazila. On April 13, promising better treatment and a nursing job, he lured the girl to his Narsingdi residence, and reportedly raped her on multiple occasions. Narsingdi Model police station OC Md Syeduzzaman said: "After the locals informed us, we arrested Julfiqar, and rescued the girl on Friday. We are looking into the case.”The rape survivor was sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for treatment, said the police OC.
