more-inThe International Hockey Federation has let off president Narinder Batra with a written warning and an undisclosed penalty for his abusive posts against England hockey and the English law agencies last year. The posts on his personal social media account were deleted soon after but not before FIH distanced itself from the statements. “The FIH Replacement Disciplinary Commissioner has concluded a disciplinary proceeding against the President of the FIH, Dr. Narinder Dhruv Batra, regarding a Facebook post on 19 June 2017 on his personal account... Dr. Batra regrets his actions and has publicly apologised for his emotional statement,” the FIH said in a statement. Batra would also have to pay a certain amount to a sports charity institution and also bear the costs of the disciplinary proceeding. The decision, however, would not impact his role as the FIH President in any way.
