Ahmedabad: As scores of people were marooned due to incessant rains in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday rushed to his home state to review the situation and conducted an aerial survey of flood hit areas of North Gujarat. Earlier in the day, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani called on the prime minister at Parliament House and apprised him of the situation arising out of the heavy rains and flood in Gujarat. After landing in Ahmedabad in the afternoon, PM Modi conducted an aerial survey of the flooded areas in the state. The prime minister suggested that special teams be set up for repair of damaged roads, restoration of power infrastructure, and for health related assistance.
