"Addressing a huge gathering at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on occasion of Foundation Day of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, PM Modi urged Chartered Accountants to play a crucial role in the implementation of GST. "Just like doctors don't want people to be ill to get more business, chartered accountants too need to safeguard society's economic health," the prime minister said.He also said that Chartered Accountants have a big responsibility to ensure that society's economic health remains good. "The Prime Minister also appealed CAs to "warn them (blackmoney holders) that they would not be spared. "Speaking on demonetisation , PM Modi said that government was committed to clean the country - of filth with Swachh India and blackmoney with noteban. But we found as many as 3 lakh registered companies whose activities came under suspicion," he said, adding that the government had identified 37,000 shell companies.
