Share:The excise police foiled a narcotics smuggling bid and arrested drug peddlers here on Tuesday. On a tip-off regarding drugs smuggling, a police team headed by SHO Excise Police Aaqif Nawaz under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) Masood-ul-Haq started snap checking of vehicles near Charsadda Interchange. During a search of a suspected car, 30-kilogram high-quality hashish confiscated in secret cavities was recovered and two drug pushers Rashid Mehmood s/o Ashraf Khan, hailing from Palandri AJK and Naseer Ahmad s/o Muhammad Yousaf, resident of Nabipura Gujranwala were arrested. The recovered hashish was being smuggled from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab. A case was registered against Excise Police Station Mardan Region and an investigation was kicked off.
