Narayanganj Third Senior Judicial Magistrate Aktaruzzaman Bhuiyan ordered trial on Wednesday after framing the charges that Bhakta had taken bribe from a teacher. Sakhawat Hossain, the lawyer for Bhakta, said the charges were "false and aimed to harass the teacher". Bhakta alleged local Jatiya Party MP Salim Osman "orchestrated the false case to save himself from another case". The senior teacher surrendered to court and pleaded for bail but Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashok Kumar Dutta rejected his plea and sent him to jail. The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Dhaka is hearing a case against the MP over the harassment of Bhakta.
