The Nanaimo Ladysmith School District has decided to cancel all overseas trips this year and next after some students ended up just metres away from the terrorist attack in Nice, France. Board chair Steve Rae says the move was done to "take a deep breath" and re-examine policies and how trips are managed in terms of safety. "We are going to figure out what the best way forward is," Rae told All Points West host Robyn Burns. Rae acknowledges many students are likely to be disappointed but said there are opportunities for educational travel within North America.
