Mbugua's address came immediately after youths had interrupted Cord leader Raila Odinga's meeting at a Nakuru hotel on the same day. Addressing a crowd at Nakuru's Mkarafuu grounds on June 11, Mr Mbugua stated that Nakuru was not the place for causing chaos and added that the Cord leader Raila Odinga had nothing left to offer the mwananchi. He also warned that those who will be found demonstrating in Nakuru County will face the full force of the law. Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has warned that his county government will not issue licenses for any of Cord’s meetings in the near future, saying that the meetings which always ended in violence cannot be tolerated in Nakuru. According to the governor, the opposition leader was into causing chaos in Nakuru, adding that were it not for his receiving the information about Raila’s whereabouts late, he would have told the opposition leader to his face that Nakuru was not interested in Cord politics.
