"As you know, sanctions (on Iran) have restricted ways of doing business there. Najib added that the effects of sanctions have resulted in total bilateral trade declining to half of what it used to be. Between January and June this year, total trade between both countries stood at RM1.03 billion. Both Rouhani and Najib have agreed to double trade in the shortest possible time and to go beyond that in subsequent years. Najib also said Malaysia will be sending a delegation comprising the Plantations Industries and Commodities Ministry, and the Malaysia Palm Oil Board (MPOB) to Tehran.
