The Nairobi county Health department has raised the alarm over a cholera outbreak. Health director Lucia Koyio on Friday directed referral hospitals to reactivate their treatment units. “In this regard, I am requesting all referral hospitals to reactivate their cholera treatment units to prevent the spread of the disease,” a statement read. WaterAid East Africa head Olutaye Bangole said 800 children die daily due to cholera cases as 2.3 billion lack access to decent toilets. The aim is to ensure water flowing along the Nairobi River is clean.
