Speaker Tammineni Sitaram has promised to examine the request of Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu to give him the freedom to decide the seating arrangement for important TDP leaders. The allotment of seats for MLAs came up for an unscheduled short discussion in the Assembly on Wednesday when Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy objected to the Speaker ordering that he should take the seat assigned to him and not applying the same rule to TDP MLAs Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary and K. Atchannaidu, who were not seated in the allotted places. After the debate took away some precious time of the question hour, Mr. Sitaram made the TDP MLAs to take their respective seats. Intervening in the discussion, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the seats would be normally allotted in an alphabetical order, or as per some other procedure, and he did not expect Mr. Naidu to complicate such simple issues.
