India is expected to sign agreements to purchase combat drones during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Israel. The combat drone can detect, track and take down targets with air-to-ground missiles. In April 2017, India and Israel signed a $2 billion deal for an advanced medium-range surface-to-air missile system, which will provide the Indian army the capability to shoot down aircraft, missiles and drones at ranges of up to 70 km. Israel is India's third-largest source of arms, with a 7.2 per cent share of imports between 2012 and 2016, next to the US (14 per cent) and Russia (68 per cent).
