Photo: RNZA Wellington driver was the most ticketed in New Zealand's three largest cities, collecting 149 parking fines in 2018, totalling $5855. Sitting close behind the Wellington driver were two people from Auckland, who tallied up 144 and 142 fines, for second and third spot in the major cities. The driver with 144 infringements was issued $11,055 in fines, while the driver with 142 fines now owes $19,356, which works out at more than $50 per day. In Wellington, 180,001 tickets were issued, worth $8,185,079, and in Christchurch there were 75,146 parking infringements, worth $5,964,609. Auckland issued $78,568 worth of parking tickets each day on average, compared to $22,424 in Wellington, and $16,341 in Christchurch.
