The New Zealand sharemarket managed a slight rise on Wednesday as results season hit full swing. The benchmark NZX50 Index closed up 0.5 per cent, or 63.25 points, at 12,673.97. Turnover was heavy again in power generator and retailer Contact Energy, following news that two funds that track S&P’s benchmark Global Clean Energy Index will have to sell down stakes in Contact and Meridian Energy.
