Eventually, amid the live threat of suicide vests, NZSAS soldiers stormed the roof. Crosby’s interviews with NZSAS soldiers who were there report a hail of gunfire, through which the New Zealanders dashed to get closer to those needing help. As to why he wrote the book, Crosby said recruitment was one benefit.
