New house price records have been set, with national prices up 19.1 per cent in the year to April and Auckland outstripping that, rising 21.6 per cent. Real Estate Institute data out today showed the national median house price last April of $680,000 jumped to $810,000 in the year to April 2021. "We were surprised that the Auckland region reached another record median price – the third in a row," she said. Gisborne district at $690,000 and Marlborough district at $672,000 have had three median price records in a row. The HPI for New Zealand excluding Auckland showed house price values increased 28.6 per cent annually to 3804.
